MARGAO: Unknown accused effected entry into the Laximinarayan Temple, here, on Monday night and committed theft of Rs 15,000 from the two donation boxes inside the temple.
A complaint was filed by Satish Vishnu Kunkalienkar of Sirvodem stating that the accused entered the temple by breaking open the front door.
Police have registered an offence under sections 457, 380 of IPC.
Meanwhile, Cuncolim police on a complaint filed by Mohan Borkar of Panzorcone have registered an offence of theft under section 380 IPC against unknown accused.
In his complaint Borkar stated that between June 15 and 17 when he and his family were out, unknown accused entered their house by breaking open the rear and middle door and committed theft of gold and cash Rs 5,000 from a cupboard totally amounting Rs 50,000.
