PANJIM: Goa scored an easy 2-0 win over Jharkhand in the All India Football Federation Senior Women’s National Football Championship, played at Kerala on Wednesday.
Goa scored a goal in either half of the play. Both teams started the play on a cautious note and kept maximum ball possession.
With hardly any threatening moves, it looked like the teams would be walking goalless into the breather. However, captain Stessi Cardozo scored in the 4th minute of the injury time to put Goa ahead in the game. In the second half, Sushmita Jadhav consolidated the lead to make it 2-0. The scores remained 2-0 till the end of the final whistle.
Goa next play Karnataka on December 3.
