Cops nab two-wheeler thief

A person arrested by Panjim police on suspicion this afternoon turned out to be a rider of Activa scooter stolen from Tonca, couple of days ago.
The person identified as Krishna Shetty of Chimbel allegedly stole the Activa bearing number GA-01-Y-6048 from its original owner Vilas Khot’s residence at Tonca, Panjim police said. A complaint with regards to the same was filed at the police station.
Police investigation also revealed that the number on the scooter actually belonged to another Honda Kinectic.
The police earlier found the alleged accused riding the bike around the city in a suspicion manner and later brought him to the police station. On questioning, Shetty failed to produce credentials of the two-wheeler, which strengthened suspicion against him.
He has been remanded to police custody for further questioning, as according to Panjim police, it may unveil other vehicle theft cases reported in the capital city and other places.
