VASCO: One Rajesh Bind, a resident of Virar in Mumbai has been arrested by Vasco police for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old minor girl from Khariwado, Vasco.
According to the police, on May 12, 2017, the mother of the victim girl had lodged a complaint before them that on May 12, an unknown person kidnapped her minor daughter from her legal guardianship.
“While investigating the case, we got some vital clues about the accused person and from the mobile phone which the accused person was using, we managed to trace his location. Later, a team of police led by PSI Nehanda Tavares left to Virar and traced the victim girl and the accused Bind from a house at Virar in Mumbai. The accused and the victim girl were brought back to Vasco. Both the victim and accused were sent for medical examination. However, the victim girl refused to undergo medical examination,” said Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo.
Vasco police produced Bind before JMFC Vasco, who remanded the accused in police custody for one day. The police were directed to produce accused before children court in Panjim on Wednesday.
“As directed, our officers produced the accused before the children’s court and he has been now remanded in judicial custody with the directions to produce him again on Thursday before the children court,” Raposo said.
