PANJIM: Two days after launching Manifesto 2022 – Ten promises for Goa, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday elaborated on how it plans to create over 2 lakh jobs over a period of 5 years.
Addressing a press con along with Rajya Sabha MP and TMC National Vice-President Luizinho Faleiro, TMC Vice-President Rajendra Kakodkar said, “One of TMC’s key promises is to modify industrial policies. We will make sure Goa which ranks the 4th worst state in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ stands among top 10 in India. We will ensure that 80% jobs are given to Goans and we will ensure that we achieve the conservative estimate of 2.5 lakh potential employment in Goa.”
Criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the high rate of unemployment in Goa, TMC claimed that fascist decisions like demonetisation coupled with no investment into new industries, no institutes for skill development were amongst the key reasons behind joblessness in the State.
TMC guarantees to restart legal sustainable mining, revamp the tourism sector, fulfill over 10,000 vacancies in government jobs and bring economic stability in Goa within first 250 days of forming government in the State.
Faleiro said, “Right to exercise one’s skills and employment are enshrined in the Constitution. MLAs from BJP have admitted that jobs were sold. Even the former Governor of Goa and the Lokayukta commission have talked about corruption in government jobs. I have seen successive governments give tall promises but no one has been able to create 100% employment because of lack of economic measures.”
