The recently opened Panjim fish market appears to be a hurriedly prepared setup by the looks of it. At all times, there is lot of water retention on the entire floor. The floor surface is very uneven with the type of slabs fitted. Though they could be less slippery due to their roughness, the very fact that a lot of water is retained on the uneven surface makes the whole flooring slippery. Possibly the channels for water to flow down into the gutters are not adequately prepared. Anyone, especially the senior citizens can have a bad fall due to the slippery surface. This deficiency needs to be fixed as the floor needs to be dry and hygienic at all times.
