PANJIM: Goa boys and girls teams emerged champions in the 1st All-India Inter Zonal U-14 Tennis Ball Cricket Championship organised by Sanguem Quepem Patrakar Sangh and Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association in collaboration with Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, at SAG ground, Curchorem, recently.
In the boys final, Goa defeated Pondicherry by 32 runs. Batting first, Goa scored 73/3 in 6 overs. Sankalp Naik 23 not out, Paras Gaonkar 19.

In reply, Pondicherry scored 40/6 in 6 overs. Pundalik Bhamaikar 13/2, Avnish Naik 4/1, Paras Gaonkar 4/1.
In the girls final, Goa defeated Pondicherry. Batting first, Pondicherry scored 43/1 in 6 overs. Shreesha Chodankar 1/12.
In reply, Goa scored 45/2 in 5.1 overs. Tanaya Gaude 10, Latisha pangude 12, Shreesha Chodankar 10 And Ayushi Shrivastav 8 not out. In all, 18 State teams participated in the championship.
Chief guest former minister for law and Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and guest of honour Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council Chairperson Pradeep Naik presented trophies, mementos and medals to the winners and runners-up in the presence of NEI Curchorem chairman Pradeep Kakodkar, TBCFI Vice-President Dr Gangadhariya, TBCFI Executive Member Munirathnam, Pondicherry Secretary Ratanapadiyan, GTBCA Secretary Ropesh Naik, President Sanguem Quepem Patrakar Sangh Samir Bhat, Kirtan Vaiz and other dignitaries.
