MARGAO: A fire erupted in a house near Damodar College, Pedda Kharebandh, causing damages. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to Gil Souza, Station Fire Officer (FSO) in Margao, upon receiving the information, firefighters from Margao Fire Station swiftly responded with one fire tender and managed to bring the fire under control.

SFO Souza mentioned that it took over an hour to contain the fire. The estimated loss was approximately Rs 10,000, but firefighters were able to save property worth Rs1,00,000. Sub-Officer A.K. Valip supervised the operation, ensuring the successful rescue of valuables.
In a separate incident, a banyan tree near Tree House in Curillo, Majorda, caught fire, resulting in damages. Firefighters were dispatched along with one fire tender, and the fire was extinguished after an hour-long operation.
