Industry bodies in the recent past have been critical of the governments `apathy’ towards them.
The series of preliminary meetings are being held separately keeping the COVID-19 situation in mind.
The industry bodies have raised their existing demands which has not been addressed for years together, which includes raw water, factories and boilers, labour issues etc.
Speaking to the Herald, president of the GSIA, Damodar Kochkar said, “I hope this time our concerns are addressed. We have briefed three industry secretaries in past 15 months. Our concerns are genuine and it should be addressed by the government as early as possible.”
