Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented. Arnold palmer said that. Now you may wonder why this esteemed gentleman is being quoted here. The senior executive being featured this week loves his golf rather passionately. He is at the golf course every morning without fail. Perhaps that game of golf helps him maintain his sanity. Osric Cabral drives every morning to Cancona. It’s a drive that takes him an hour and perhaps the absence of traffic on the road and the relative silence helps him organize his thoughts and his putting.
Once the birdies and the hole in one has been attempted in earnest it is time to return home and prepare for the rigors of the day. Osric drives down to his office located in Vasco. Like many lucky people in Goa, he does not have lunch in a restaurant. Instead he goes home for a hearty Goan meal he then goes over to the yard to inspect the work. At 7 he is home. Watch some TV and then to bed. As simple life possibly dictated by the fact his children are studying in England.
His tastes in music run to the story telling that is a strong suit of country music. Kenny Rogers, Gareth Brooks count amongst his favorite artists. He does not watch movies and the odd times when he does visit the theatre it is with friends. He enjoyed watching Castaway. Otherwise he does not really care much for the moving pictures.
Osrick studied abroad in London to be precise but loves his Goan cuisine. Yes, he likes continental fare but for him it is fish curry rice. With his family residing in England, visits to that country are a regular feature every year. When they come down for the summer, he makes it a point to take them around India and when he visits them during easter he makes it a point to go to some of his favorite spots. Wales is a favorite spot to visit every year and his visits to Europe also give him the time to play a few rounds of golf. However one should also make it very clear he is not one of those who only plays golf, Osric like any Goan loves his football and is a huge fan of Manchester United. He collects memorabilia like jersies and has watched the team beat Chelsea in the Champions league finals in Russia. Every year when he is in England he makes it a point to watch a game featuring his team. His busy life does not give him the time to read books. He keeps himself abreast reading the newspapers and watches news on the TV. He believes in relaxing when he is not working.
In five years he hopes to have grown the business and is able to spend time with his children. Osric knows his onions and believes in keeping his life simple. Too much complexity leads to unhappiness sometimes.
