The Life Skills Committee of Don Bosco College Panjim celebrated Christmas with great joy. As Christmas is about sharing and giving and spending time with loved ones, the faculty along with students visited the ‘Clergy Home’ at Porvorim and spent time with the retired priests, followed by visits to Fatima Sisters Old Age Home Gurim, Margaret Bosco Bal Sadan Bastora and this year they also visited animal shelters WAG Siolim and CatSantuary at Olaulim.
The SY BBA Travel & Tourism class prepared the beautiful crib. On December 18, a thanksgiving mass was celebrated by Fr Anderson, where the students gave thanks to the Lord for all blessings received in 2019 and prayed for a fruitful year in 2020.
The same week, the college witnessed a grand Christmas celebration, where the corridors were lit with lights and stars. Various competitions were organised, such as the live crib. In this competition, TY BBA won the first place followed by the Social Work Department and FY BBA.
Class of TY BBA secured the first place in the Carol singing competition, followed by FY BBA and SY BBA. For the wreath making competition, the TY BAMC won the first place with their coconut theme eco friendly wreath, while the SY BAMC and Social Work won prizes for their creative wreaths.
The carol singing and live crib competitions were judged by the Manager Rev Fr Joaquim Lobo and the Principal Dr Cedric Silveira, while the wreath competition was judged by head librarian Pranita and Teacher Anaita.
The events were coordinated by the Life skills secretary Ivo Goncalves (FY MSW), Joshua Dcosta (TY BBA TT) and General Secretary Chic D’Cruz.
Last but not the least, teachers and professors of Don Bosco celebrated a small Christmas get-together. Here the teachers received delicious Christmas sweets and also exchanged gifts and sang Christmas Carols to light up the Christmas spirit.
