participants, well-wishers, volunteers and everyone who came forward to support
the initiative. “It was encouraging to see participants from across Goa,
including senior veterans, young children and Runners. A special thanks to Goa
Traffic Police cell for their whole hearted support in ensuring safety on the
running route,” said the school in a statement to the media.
“Sports and fitness are an essential element in a child’s
development and throughout their life for progressive physical and mental well
being. As first influencers in a child’s life, parents and educators form a
vital part of this development process. To be able to cultivate healthy habits
at an early stage of their growth, we must lead by example, “ added the school.
The
Marathon is an initiative to foster and encourage physical activity among young
kids. The celebratory Run cum Marathon was part of a series of events to
commemorate 50 dedicated years of Manovikas English Medium School.
