The annual traditional feast of Our Lady of
Bethlehem along with the Three Kings feast was celebrated at Nossa Senhora De
Belem Church, Chandor on January 6 with reverence and great fanfare. This year,
parishioners Aaron Savio Fernandes from New township, Jayden Jude Colaco from
Mena Cavorim and Reis Densil Gomes from Colloso wado were the privileged ones
chosen to play the kings. The rode on traditional paths perched on their
horses, wearing crowns and carrying the gifts from Our Lady of Piety Chapel,
Monte Hill, Chandor to Nossa Senhora De Belem Church, accompanied by a
traditional brass band.
The concelebrated High Mass was celebrated
in the Nossa Senhora De Belem Church and the Director of Biblical Apostolate,
Old Goa Fr Edson Fernandes was the main celebrant.
