The actor has visited Goa quite a few times. “It was his birthday, and yes, he has visited our restaurant many times previously as well,” said Neville Proenca, owner of the restaurant. He added, “The actor is very fond of my dog ‘Chai’.” Known for his love of Goan flavours, Varun Dhawan went all out this time, digging into a spread of crabs, lobster, and Chicken Cafreal. Keeping things equally delightful for his wife, who is vegetarian, Neville curated a special menu featuring peri-peri veggies, mushrooms, coriander, a stir-fry of potatoes with pumpkin rice, and a fresh salad, rounded off with gulab jamun and a refreshing watermelon salad. The actor is soaking in a few laid-back days in Goa.

Neville shared, “He first visited in 2020 during COVID, when he came here with his parents. After that, they visited again, and he has come quite often since then. This was his fourth or fifth visit.” The actor’s upcoming movie is the romantic comedy ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, directed by his father, David Dhawan. Releasing on May 22, 2026, the film features Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. Compared to last time, the actor looks more bulky and fit. When he comes here, he says this is a true Goa vibe, where he can sit on the beach. He also had his privacy, as there are not many people, and at their place, nobody bothers him or asks for photographs,” said Neville.
The actor also had a brief conversation with Neville about fitness. “The conversation was about fitness, including how he works out outside. He also mentioned that during his last visit, the food was great, especially since he is into healthy eating,” Neville shared.
