Now in the 2012 Goa Assembly election, BJP in partnership of late Mathany Saldanha promised many things dear to the hearts of Goans like Special Status, cutting of VAT/Octroi on petrol, zero-corruption, etc. and they got elected to rule Goa.
As days, weeks, months passed on, BJP became minus Mathany Saldanha, and soon BJP started to bring in from the back doors their ‘hidden agenda’ into the government. Till Manohar Parikkar was the CM – he was partially adhering to the manifesto. But soon after when Manohar Parrikar was shifted to Delhi, they have forgotten their manifesto. They don’t know whether it was the party’s manifesto or Manohar Parrikar’s manifesto. WhenLaximikant Parsekar succeeded Parrikar, the former increased the petrol prices and betrayed his party manifesto saying it was Manohar Parikkar who promised that and I will not go by his promise. Denial No. 1. Is BJP’s manifesto not Parsekar’s manifesto?
During LS election campaign, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate and present PM Narendra Modi had promised at the rally held at Merces, that Goa’s request or demand for Special Status to Goans to protect their land for Goans for posterity – was a reasonable and a genuine demand, therefore if BJP comes to power in Delhi – he said he will see to it that this dream of Goans becomes a reality. But when the demand was made in parliament few months back, BJP –head by the same Prime Ministerial candidate who promised us, Special Status has forgotten it. Denial No.2. And now our CM Parsekar says don’t waste time on Special Status for Goa – it is a mirage.
BJP’s manifesto never favored for Mopa Airport but promised that casinos from river Mandovi would be shifted elsewhere by 31st December 2015. Till today they are still where they were, Denial No.3.
Zero-corruption was your day-to-day ‘narra’ – BJP ko laho – Congress muft Bharat banao . But still, corruption is at the same level. So many cases have been detected, but none has been finalized. Is it not Denial No.4.
Present environment minister has re-classified Goa’s coconut tree into a coconut palm what a silly classification. Each and every Goan has raised their voices and has requested the government to repeal that Act. But instead, recently, the minister is saying that ‘there is no possibility of the government repealing the amendment to the Tree Protection act 1982-83’, it is for the prosperity of Goa’. How can Goa prosper without the coconut tree? Due to this faulty amendment, Goa without coconut trees will look barren. Does BJP want to make Goa another desert? Saagar se marru banana hai kya? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Cultural Festival of India Event in Delhi near the Yamuna river is a valid example of BJP destroying the nature there. Does this government also want same thing to happen in our Goa too? If BJP cannot protect Goa, and rule the state as per your manifesto, you do not deserve to rule the state. This government needs to think twice before much damage is caused to Goa or else, let the people of Goa give the reigns to someone else who can protect Goa for Goans.
