On Friday, on behalf of ‘Save Tiracol Save Goa’, Kennedy, Zico and myself visited Late Dominic de Tiracol’s family. The atmosphere at Tiracol was gloomy and full of grief. Villagers are sad but angry as well, as one of their finest gems has been engulfed by the greed and gluttony of the land shark called Leading Hotels. His son and my friend Elvis told me that the entire village was hyper excited about our arrival with the musical revolution at Tiracol and were eagerly looking forward to it. So much so, that Dominic had even composed a cantar especially for the protest and given a tune to it. When Elvis asked him to sing it, Dominic replied, “Let me disclose it as I sing it in front of the crowd at the protest.” Dominic is physically no more with us. The song, it’s tune and the claps it would have received are gone along with him to permanently haunt Leading Hotels. The protest has been postponed to next Sunday, July 19, at 3.00 PM at Tiracol, and will be dedicated to the memory of the David of Tiracol who never budged an inch, never relented a centimeter to the mighty Goliath-like land sharks.
