Condoning graft, corruption, kickbacks, extortion and criminal activity by certain elements within the Goa police is a serious crime, that sets the seed for those who are meant to uphold and enforce the law to get sucked into the quagmire of crime and become part of that evil nexus. Unfortunately we see the police in Goa resorting to all sorts of corruption at various levels and getting away with it, with no action taken against them. This needs to be dealt with a firm hand and a stern message needs to be delivered to all ranks of the police that this will not be tolerated.
Criminals are emboldened and empowered when they know that they have a pliant, jaundiced and tainted police force. This rot within the Goa police needs to be stamped out once and for all and cannot be condoned, nor those guilty allowed to go scot free, reinstated and promoted! It not only sends a very wrong message that they can operate with impunity but emboldens them to be part of the criminal nexus.
