Goans unite for football

With the full force of “United Goans” behind them, Zico’s FC Goa is going from strength to strength. This is what football is all about. A game of the masses. Without fan support FC Goa would still be languishing at the bottom of the league.
FC Goa ‘belongs’ to Goa. It is this sense of belonging that makes football what it is today. On Monday Zico’s team thrashed North East United FC by three goals to nil. But the best news is that the stadium was full to capacity with not an inch to spare. A woman fainted and there was no way to shift her out! Fans with valid tickets were turned away and tickets were openly being sold in the black market. Though black marketing of tickets is illegal, it is a sure sign that Indian football has now entered the big league.
