ISRO on Friday successfully launched five British commercial satellites on board PSLV-C28 from this spaceport in the heaviest commercial mission ever undertaken by it. I recall that when India launched its Mangalyaan through ISRO, many foreign media outlets, including some British tabloids expressed their worry about how ‘poor’ India has set its priorities wrongly by giving ‘importance to Mars Mission over eliminating poverty’. I do not mean to engage in jingoism, but I cannot refrain from comparing both the cases. Now that ISRO launched British satellites through PLSV, it is a sign of the international community too reaffirming its faith in India’s space technology.
