EDM festival will destroy peace and tranquillity
Sunburn Music Festival has announced that it will shift to South Goa. This year the festival will reportedly be held from December 28 to 30. Sunburn Festival is a commercial electronic dance music festival held in India. It is learnt that a storm is reportedly brewing over the shifting of the EDM festival to South Goa.

The locals have raised apprehension of the music festival being a threat to the peaceful life in South Goa. It may be recalled that a day after the festival last year, the organizers of the music festival had publicly stated that it would never return to Goa.
Now they are singing a different tune as the organizers say that they are thrilled to start a new chapter of the festival in South Goa. It must be said that what is not good for North Goa cannot be good for South Goa. For seventeen years that the festival was being hosted in North Goa it was dodged by controversies like alleged drug abuse including some deaths of guests around the venue allegedly related to substance abuse. It is also marked by alleged disregard for local communities and causing environmental damage thereby raising grave concern.
South Goa is very peaceful and, by and large, has not been touched by such controversial programs and people of South Goa will certainly not accept it. Boosting tourism should not be at the cost of losing peace and tranquillity in South Goa. Government should not dance to the music of the organizers.

Also it could be possible that the nutritional content of every ingredient can be displayed on the panel in your refrigerator. This concept in bio-fresh refrigerators could go a long way in enabling many people as to how to get all the calories, carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins and therefore amino acids, minerals as well as sugars and could be a great boost in improving the health of the people who use this facility.

Biden should quit the race
It’s a wonder why Joe Biden, the 81-year-old President of the US, is adamant to enter the Presidential race again, when most of the Congressional Democrats want him to quit.
By referring Kamala Harris as ‘Vice President Trump’ and introducing Ukrainian President Zelensky as ‘President Putin’ at the recently held NATO summit, Biden has given enough clue to one to come to the conclusion that age has palsied his brain and in turn his memory and it would be highly detrimental to the interest of the nation, if he is allowed to remain in the White House on another four year term. The Democrats also don’t want to hand over the White House on a golden platter to the temperamental and quixotic Donald Trump by agreeing to the nomination of Biden. It’s time Biden took a honourable exit from the Presidential race before the Democrats showed him the exit door.

Money power rules the world
To read of the closing of roads, diversion of traffic, bringing traffic to a standstill, instructions to offices to ask employees to work from home all because of a wedding reception (of the rich and famous) was a sad reflection of what money does.
Further, the wasteful expenditure on such a lavish wedding reception when our India is plagued with starving and homeless thousands, unemployment, lack of basic amenities, infrastructure and medical care, lawlessness, corruption (you name the problem and we have it) speaks volumes of the attitude of such people.
To borrow from Tagore, “Into a heaven of empathy and sharing, when will my country awake?”

Goans don’t want Sunburn festival
Goas are against Sunburn and don’t want it neither in the North nor the South. This festival doesn’t benefit Goans but destroys the peaceful environment here. Tourists gets drunk and sleep on the open beach and streets. There are cases of drug overdose and the pick pockets looting the wallets and mobile phones. The crime rate too soars these days.
This year, there is the Exposition of our Goencho saib and the government wanting to go ahead with the Sunburn festival from 28 to 30 December is questionable. If the government wants to invite the Pope to Goa then what are the authorities up to?

Humanity can never be sacrificed
The heart-rending picture of wounded Dr Ihor Kolodka (in bloodied surgical scrub), leading from the front in cleaning up the rubble and searching for the victims after the Russian missile attack upon the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital Kyiv, should act as an eye-opener for those leaders countries and people around the globe who openly support the fatal aggression upon Ukraine continuing since 2022 or prefer to act “neutral” and trade with Russia in the name of “national interest”!
All things should be sacrificed for the sake of humanity. Humanity cannot be sacrificed for the sake of anything.
Will Kolodka’s cry (while removing the debris after having his wound stitched up) “It’s my hospital, my people, I’m a doctor” open the conscience of the direct and tacit supporters of the invader Russia!
