Bab Manohar Parrikar, you are elected for second time as the Chief Minister of Goa and inaugurated two bridges in Aldona and I admire your capacity and congratulate you. It is indeed a vision to Aldoncars. Past administration could do it but they had their own interest first. For Calvim Bridge, if you have appointed Consultant for it and if so what supervision they had done. Have you paid them, if not please ask them to check what lapses exist.
The four arcs at the end of the bridge, have big gaps. The gaps are so large that even a man can easily pass through and there is ever chance of him to land in the sea. Both foot paths of the bridge are not properly done and are uneven.
On the Calvim side the inter locking tiles have sunk and at one point it is knee deep which is very dangerous for public. The iron railings which are installed have already corroded and need painting. Secondly during the first storm of this raining season a whole lot of sand, mud and rubbles got down on the
bridge from Nivim slope and got collected on
the bridge. Then also on the second storm
another lot of sand and stone got deposited
on the bridge as there is no drainage for water
to flow.
In the past water was flowing and going
down the river but now that the passage is
build the water gets blocked by the bridge
road. If no action is taken before late, then the
mud from Nivim Hillock will come down and
get collected on the bridge and accidents will
take occur due to the slippery conditions and
there is also the possibility that the bridge will
be damaged.
In the evening there are bikers who drive
reckless, I request you to put boards on the
both sides of bridge.
The road from Calvim bidge at Lankdem
Chapel to Tiwari Bungalow road is very
narrow and the small bridge at Lankdem
chapel is very narrow and should be widen.
In the past a taxi slipped by the side and
luckily no damage was caused. I admire
your motto to make Goa island free which is
much appreciated. You are more keen in new
bridges but I request you to pay attention to
the maintenance of old bridges specially the
Aldona cable bridge which needs immediate
action.
