With reference to the issue of seepage of septic tank water from Karangate building, it is to be noted that on March 28 2014 site inspection was conducted by Sanitary Inspector of PHC Curtorim, with sarpanch Mr Julio and accordingly notice was served to the residents of Karangate building. Compliance report from residents of Karangate building was received on May 9, 2014.
The complainant Mr Menino wasn’t happy with the repair work and kept complaining about it and the notice was re-served to Karangate building residents upon which they asked for 5 days time for repair. On June 4, Karangate residents again gave a compliance report and requested for site inspection.
They informed that major repair work will be undertaken after monsoon worth approximately Rs 84,320 for which they obtained the quotation.
On June 5, a surprise inspection was conducted and no health nuisances were found at site. Mr Menino was again unhappy and complained.
On July 1 finally a joint inspection was scheduled in the presence of the complainant, respondent, health authorities, sarpanch and Ward panch. It was unanimously resolved that there is no leakage through septic tank, no leakage through PWD pipeline but some garbage was noted in premises.
Underground leakage through septic tank couldn’t be confirmed because of rain. Respondents agreed to do necessary repairs after monsoon and whenever there are leakages or other lapses.
Importantly the above site report was jointly signed by all concerned people including Mr Menino, the complainant.
