The Narendra Modi-led BJP government has reportedly spent a whopping Rs. 94 crores on ads of Swachch Bharat Mission in just 1 year. Now isn’t that ridiculous on the part of the BJP government at the centre to indulge in such a wasteful expenditure when one can practically see half of India’s population still starving and practically living below the poverty line struggling to make two ends meet? What does the BJP government at the centre really think? Just by organizing a few photo-session ‘nataks’ or acts and posing with brooms at a few public places in the name of clean India campaign, can it go to successfully convince people to clean every part of India?
Well, I personally feel that this country can never be cleansed even after another thousands of years through such cheap gimmicks because majority of the people who are mostly poor compulsorily go to practice their own unique culture of dumping garbage in the neighbourhood, chewing ‘paan’/ ‘ghutka’ and spitting at public places as they still do not know the real meaning of the word ‘hygiene culture’. Some still don’t even have proper toilets in their homes and due to which one can see so many of them habitually answering nature’s call/urinating right in the open or at public places in most parts of India.
I therefore feel that instead of wasting crores of rupees on useless campaigns like Swachch Bharat Mission to bluff the world, the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the centre should seriously go to spend a few crores and try to improve the living conditions of all the poor people who are still living in the most un-hygienic conditions by building toilets, garbage plants etc.
Yes, let’s not just dream of cleaning this country only from outside filth but also try to free the same from stinking deep-rooted inside dirt like caste, creed and religious based communal politics through some genuine efforts or modern education to really compete with some of the best advanced nations of the world.
