For last one week there were murders taking places on daily basis in tiny Goa. Is it because of greed/love triangles or due to failed system in term of policing/prosecutors and Judiciary?
It seems murders are taking place at whims due to all above factors. The killers in Goa are not at all afraid of the consequences of their criminals’ deeds. Goa Police are doing good work as far as they apprehend the culprits but are there enough convictions of murder accused?

The DGP of Goa Police needs to take reappraisal of increasing of crime rate in Goa specially murder cases and should hold the Investigating Officer (IO) accountable for all acquittals in murder cases some of them which can be termed as rarest of rare murder cases. Foremost DGP Goa Police needs to immediately pull up all IOs in activist Vilas Methar murder case. It is one of rarest of rare murder case where the murderer stopped the victim while driving car, pulled him out of his car and killed him by setting him ablaze in broad daylight at public places. All those involved in the murder should never get bail and are needed to be sent to gallows by taking court hearing on day-to-day basis. Such heinous crime is intolerable and need to be dealt with an iron hand by all involved in prosecution of the alleged killer accused.
There were also many other heinous murder cases that took places in Goa during the last few years; to name some; the double murder case at Vasco, Margao Monti-Dongor case, Balli tribal murder case, Colva murder ,Vasco near Jetty murder, Aquem double murder case, Czech National murder case, Mapari murder case at Curchorem and Goa famous serial killer Mahanand Naik are some of many where all the accused persons got acquitted by Court and Goa Police never thought it is wise to take the Investigating officer accountable in those acquittals since their higher-ups may be thinking it is not necessary or there were political interferences in them.
In most cases the acquittals take place due to shabby investigation by Goa Police officers lacking knowledge in Police Investigation from the time the crime is reported to them until disposal of evidence in the Court. There are Police officers in Goa many of high ranking now, who don’t even know to conduct proper police panchanama at crime site and were castigated by Judiciary while acquitting the accused persons. Some as simple as while recording witnesses’s statement. Many times, it is noticed that crime sites are not cordoned off properly and become like leisure places for public to disturb them before collecting evidence.
That’s not the end there are many suspicious murder cases of both local and foreigners which neither the Goa Police nor the so-called country premier investigation Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were able to solve the mystery behind the victim’s death. It is like nobody killed them even with glaring suspicions behind their death. This all brings a bad name to the policing of the State of Goa.
Mere apprehending the accused persons is not enough, even a layman can apprehend a criminal with the help of modern gadgets but what is important is the accused person need to be convicted by Judiciary in time bound actions.
Lack of full-fledged forensic team in a tourists State of the Country is also greatest problem in the prosecution of accused persons in different criminal cases reported in Goa. As such many victims are waiting for years to get justice. It seems the public prosecutors in Goa are also not up to the mark since charge-sheets placed in Judiciary fall like pack of playing cards.
The Judiciary taking its own time (average 10 years) for disposal of specially the murder cases is nothing than failure of subsequent State Governments.
The persons intend to kill someone will go on killing but it is the Goa Police who need to send strong message to everyone in the State that those who indulge in taking life of fellow human beings will neither get bail nor acquittal by making the cases as tight proof against defence attorney without any loopholes.
