11 Dead, 60 Injured as Two TN Government Buses Collide Head-On in Sivaganga

At least 11 people, including a child, lost their lives and around 60 others sustained injuries after two Tamil Nadu government buses collided head-on near Kummangudi in Sivaganga district on Sunday evening, police confirmed.

The tragic crash took place about five kilometres from Pillaiyarpatti, in the Tirupattur region, leaving both vehicles badly mangled.

According to the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police, the impact of the collision resulted in multiple casualties at the scene. Local residents and surviving passengers immediately launched rescue efforts, helping to pull several injured individuals from the wreckage before emergency teams arrived.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, while the injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
