Mumbai: Two people lost their lives and another sustained critical injuries after a high-speed BMW Z4 crashed into a divider on the Mumbai-Vadodara Highway near Badlapur in the early hours of Sunday.
According to reports, the luxury sports car was travelling from Titwala towards Badlapur when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle around 3 a.m. The car, reportedly moving at nearly 250 kmph, rammed into a divider and overturned, resulting in a devastating crash.

The impact was so severe that the BMW was completely mangled, with debris scattered across the highway. Eyewitnesses stated that body parts were found several metres away from the accident site due to the force of the collision.
The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Dighe and Rikeba Jakap, both residents of Badlapur. They died on the spot. The third occupant, Anand, suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thane.
The trio was reportedly returning home after attending a birthday party when the accident occurred.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and launched an investigation into the incident. “A case of accidental death has been registered, and further investigation is underway,” the station house officer said.
