The health condition of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra sparked massive confusion and emotional reactions on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, after conflicting reports emerged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where the 89-year-old actor had been admitted.
According to his team, Dharmendra passed away on Tuesday, though several family members had earlier dismissed the death reports as false and insensitive, asking the media to respect their privacy.

The veteran actor was first admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on November 1 for a routine check-up after he complained of breathlessness. He was later placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the care of senior cardiologist Dr Dev Pahlajani. Sources confirmed that Dharmendra was on ventilator support before his death.
Throughout Monday and Tuesday, the hospital saw a steady stream of visitors from the film fraternity and his family. Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, and Tanya Deol were all seen at the hospital. Prominent actors Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ameesha Patel also visited to check on the veteran star’s health.
Earlier in the day, Hema Malini had strongly condemned the spread of false death news, posting on X (formerly Twitter):
“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and recovering? Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”
Similarly, Esha Deol took to Instagram to urge restraint, writing:
“THE MEDIA SEEMS TO BE IN OVERDRIVE AND SPREADING FALSE NEWS. MY FATHER IS STABLE & RECOVERING. WE REQUEST EVERYONE TO GIVE OUR FAMILY PRIVACY. THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS FOR PAPA’S SPEEDY RECOVERY.”
As confusion mounted, fans across the country flooded social media with messages and prayers for the beloved actor’s health.
Dharmendra, fondly remembered as Bollywood’s “He-Man,” enjoyed a career spanning over six decades with more than 300 films to his credit. His charm, humility, and larger-than-life screen presence made him one of Indian cinema’s most enduring icons.
His final film, “Ikkis,” is slated for release on December 25, 2025, marking the last on-screen appearance of the legendary actor.
