The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued an orange alert for parts of Delhi and the adjoining National Capital Region (NCR) until 6 pm, as the Capital continues to experience heavy rainfall.
Recent downpours have caused the Yamuna River to breach the 207-metre danger mark for the fifth time since 1963, raising concerns about potential flooding in low-lying areas. The IMD had earlier predicted more rain across Delhi-NCR throughout the day.

The weather department also forecasted that Delhi’s minimum temperature is likely to settle at 24°C, while the maximum is expected to reach around 33°C. Residents are advised to stay alert and take precautions amid the continuing wet conditions.
