Speaking briefly to reporters at Chennai airport before departing for Delhi, Annamalai refrained from commenting directly on the reports of his resignation. “Please wait. We will sit down and talk in two days,” he said, hinting that discussions regarding his political future are imminent.
Adding to the speculation, observers noted that the vehicle in which Annamalai arrived at the airport did not display the BJP flag, a departure from the norm for senior party leaders.
Annamalai, who emerged as one of the BJP’s most prominent faces in Tamil Nadu in recent years, has played a key role in expanding the party’s visibility in the state. His potential exit could have significant implications for the BJP’s organisational structure and future strategy in Tamil Nadu.
