Kamal Haasan has publicly extended his support to newly sworn-in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, praising the actor-turned-politician’s humility and vision for the state.
Kamal shared pictures from his recent meeting with Vijay on social media and said he felt proud after interacting with the new Chief Minister. In his post, Kamal stated that Vijay spoke enthusiastically about several dreams and plans for the betterment of Tamil Nadu.

The veteran actor also said he submitted six important demands to the new government regarding support for the Tamil film industry, which he claimed has been facing multiple challenges in recent years.
Kamal further welcomed Vijay’s decision to shut down 717 TASMAC liquor outlets located near temples, schools, colleges and bus stands across Tamil Nadu. Calling the move appreciable, he said liquor sales should never become the primary function of a government and urged the administration to continue reducing such outlets.
Earlier too, Kamal had congratulated Vijay after his swearing-in ceremony and said Tamil Nadu would reach new heights under his leadership.
Vijay’s rise has drawn comparisons with legendary actor-politicians such as MG Ramachandran, J Jayalalithaa and NT Rama Rao. His party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, stunned political observers by emerging as the single largest force in the Assembly elections and later securing support from 120 MLAs in the 234-member House.
