Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Army, Navy, and Air Force chiefs. The meeting followed a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and subsequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
The top-level discussion focused on the security situation along the India-Pakistan border, military preparedness, and diplomatic strategies in response to the rising tensions.

Despite a ceasefire announced on Saturday, brokered by US President Donald Trump and following direct military-level talks, Pakistan breached the agreement within hours by resuming shelling and launching drone incursions across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
India reacted promptly, intercepting drones, imposing blackouts in sensitive border areas, and reaffirming its resolve to respond forcefully to any further provocations.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reiterated India’s uncompromising stance on terrorism, placing full responsibility on Pakistan for the violations. They stressed that sustained peace is only possible if Islamabad abides by its commitments.
Although no new ceasefire breaches were recorded overnight, tensions remain high, with both nations maintaining strong military deployments along the border.
