Police investigating the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal have recreated the crime scene at Lohagad Fort near Pune as part of efforts to strengthen the case against the two accused, Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary.
The reconstruction exercise was carried out over two days, with Goyal taken to the fort on Tuesday and Chaudhary brought to the location early Wednesday morning. Investigators also conducted a gait analysis to determine whether Chaudhary was the individual wearing a hoodie who was captured on surveillance footage following Ketan and Siya shortly before the alleged murder.

According to police officials and legal experts, both the crime scene reconstruction and gait analysis are expected to play a significant role in the prosecution’s case, particularly because there are no eyewitnesses to the killing.
The investigation relies heavily on circumstantial evidence, meaning prosecutors must satisfy the legal standards laid down by the Supreme Court in the landmark 1984 “Panchsheel” judgment, which outlines the conditions that must be met before a conviction can be secured solely on circumstantial evidence.
Chaudhary was escorted to Lohagad Fort at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday under tight security, with a team of more than 25 police personnel overseeing the operation. Goyal had been taken to the same location a day earlier as investigators reconstructed the sequence of events leading up to Ketan Agarwal’s death.
Police are continuing their investigation as they gather evidence to build a comprehensive case for trial.
