At least seven workers lost their lives in a massive fire that broke out at a chemical factory in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi on Monday, while 10 others are still feared trapped inside the premises, officials said.
The blaze erupted around 9.30 am when nearly 20 to 25 workers were on duty at the private industrial unit. Within minutes, flames spread rapidly across a large section of the factory, triggering panic and chaos. Several workers managed to escape, but others were unable to make it out in time.

Additional District Magistrate Sumita Mishra said the incident was first noticed during routine police patrolling in the area. Police teams, fire brigade personnel, medical staff, and senior administrative officials rushed to the spot immediately and cordoned off the area to facilitate rescue and relief operations.
Firefighters battled the inferno for nearly one-and-a-half hours before bringing the situation under control. Rescue teams continue to search the debris for trapped workers, while ambulances remain on standby.
Authorities have ordered an inquiry into the cause of the fire and are assessing safety lapses at the factory. The tragic incident has once again raised concerns over industrial safety standards and emergency preparedness in the region.
