Grief and tension prevailed in Kapsad village in the Sardhana area on Friday following the murder of a Dalit woman and the alleged kidnapping of her daughter. A heavy police presence was deployed in the village to maintain law and order, officials said.
The woman’s family refused to perform her last rites till late evening, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, strict action against their alleged illegal constructions, and the safe recovery of the missing girl.

Senior police officials, including Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada, visited the spot and held prolonged discussions with the family and villagers, but no consensus was reached.
The SSP said a case under stringent legal provisions has been registered against two accused based on the family’s complaint. He added that over ten police teams are conducting searches across districts to arrest the suspects and trace the missing girl.
