10 shacks razed on Kerim Beach

Officials of tourism department razed 10 illegal shacks on Kerim Beach in Pernem taluka on Friday morning. The action against these illegal shacks was taken by assistant director of tourism department G N Sangodkar.
The shacks were demolished under the supervision of Pernem Mamlatdar Varsha Mandrekar. Pernem police were also present during the drive.
Speaking to Herald, most of the shack owners said that the action against them is politically motivated and expressed fear that such actions could affect tourists in Pernem.
