11 hyper sensitive, eight sensitive booths in Vasco

Three days after the former minister Mickky Pacheco was allegedly manhandled in Vasco, the State Election Commission (SEC) has declared 11 polling stations as hyper sensitive and eight booths as sensitive in the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) jurisdiction.
Of the 55 polling stations – 11 have been declared hyper sensitive and eight sensitive due to the tensions prevailing in the constituency.
To avoid any untoward incident in Mormugao the SEC has appointed two observers, said State Election Commissioner (SEC) Dr M Modassir, while addressing a press conference today.
Former tourism minister Mickky Pacheco was assaulted by the Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza supporters on October 26.
D’Souza alleged that Pacheco was distributing money in his constituency to poach on his supporters.
When asked whether action has been initiated by the SEC in the incident and the allegations the Commissioner replied that the SEC has not received any complaint from the minister or any candidate from Vasco on the distribution of money.
