VASCO: A teenager was killed and two other were seriously injured in a self accident at Shantinagar, Vasco on Saturday night.
The accident occurred when the driver lost his control of his car and it went off the road and fell from a height on a house down below.
19-year-old Sanjyot Borkar died on the spot while car driver David Cruz, 20 and Saharsh Bhosale, 24, all residents of Saibin bhat, Khareawado, Vasco were injured and were rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim. Bhosale has been admitted in ICU of GMC while, Cruz was discharged on Sunday.
The three friends were proceeding from Mangor towards Dabolim airport by a car when the tragedy occurred.
The Vasco police conducted the panchanama and handed over the body to the relatives after post-mortem examination. PSI Archana Gaonkar is conducting further investigation under the guidance of Vasco PI Kapil Nayak.
Youth rams into a car at Uguem, escapes with minor injuries
SANGUEM: Twenty-one-year-old Reagan Vaz, a resident of Uguem-Sanguem, escaped with minor injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car near the Uguem junction.
Sources informed that Vaz, who was following a car, failed to notice it turning right and lost control of his two-wheeler while trying to slow down and dashed against the car from behind.
The impact was such that he fell on the car’s rear glass and sustained minor injuries.
He was immediately rushed to Primary Health Centre Sanguem and later to Hospicio Hospital, Margao for a check-up. He was soon brought back to the Primary Health Centre Sanguem where his condition is reported to be stable.
