PONDA: Ponda police arrested two persons from Ponda on Monday, for allegedly raping a married woman, aged around 30 years, from Kotwada, Curti-Ponda, over a period of the last three months.
According to Ponda police, the woman is from Curti Ponda but was married in Dharwad. But since she was separated from her husband she has been residing at her mother’s place in Ponda.
According to her complaint, the accused Ulhas Naik (40) from Varkhandem, Ponda, met her some three month ago and promised to employ her in his catering business and later raped her. The accused later handed her to his friend Shyam Patki (29), residing near a building, near Ponda Municipal Council, who also raped her. She alleged in her complaint that both the accused raped her for the last three months based on which police registered a rape offence and arrested both of them on Monday.
