PERNEM: Two persons died and a third person suffered serious injuries in an accident that occurred at Poraskade in Pernem, on Saturday at around 8.45 am.
Pernem police said that Mitesh Varadkar (35) and Bhagyashri Damle (52) were travelling to Goa Medical College Hospital, Bamboli, in a Maruti Zen car when the accident occurred.
The Zen car dashed against a truck while overtaking another vehicle.
Mitesh and Bhagyashri died on the spot, while a third person Anand Damle suffered severe injuries and is admitted to GMC.
Hawaldar Digambar Kambli is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Rahul Parab.
