The Panjim Town Police on Thursday claimed they had managed to nab the two youth who were involved in ambushing three non-resident Indians from Gujarat and robbed them of cash near the IT Park in Dona Paula a little after midnight on Wednesday.
PI Sandesh Chodankar said Jack Oliveira, 21, and Somnath Shirodkar, 20, had appeared from some bushes when the three tourists residing in a hotel at Nagali Hill were taking a walk. “They had attacked two of them with bottles and robbed Rs 3,000 cash. One of the three is admitted to GMC with injuries,” he mentioned.
Chodankar said the special squad of the Panjim police had managed to nab the two after working on some leads. “One of the accused, Jack, residing in the area has a history of moving around in the night. We knew this and were after him,” he stated.
