MAPUSA: There was panic among the residents of Khorlim, in Mapusa after a person tested positive for COVID-19.
MMC chairperson Ryan Braganza said, “Around 256 swab samples have been collected on Tuesday by the Mapusa Urban Health Centre staff and the residents of this area have been directed to stay indoors. Further steps will be taken based on the results of these 256 samples.”

Meanwhile, the house of the infected person and the nearby areas in Khorlim, have been sanitised by fire service personnel and access to the affected area has been barricaded and police have been deployed.
MLA Joshua D’Souza along with Deputy Collector Mamu Hage, MMC Chief Officer Kabir Shirgaonkar, PI Tushar Lotlikar, Councillors Vibha Salgaonkar and Rajsingh Rane also visited the affected area.
