VASCO: The Vasco Police arrested three persons in connection with the Dabolim robbery case and recovered the stolen items.
In a press statement, South Goa SP Pankaj Kumar Singh, said on March 5, 2021 at around 2 pm they received a phone call from one Dessai, a resident of Fatima Colony, Dabolim informing them that a gang of four accused tied her husband in their house and committed the robbery.

On receiving information, the patrolling staff which was alerted, immediately rushed to Fatima Colony. The staff with the help of public arrested one Sunil More, a resident of Ulhas Nagar-Thane and the member of the gang of four.
The victim revealed that a gang of four persons led by one Dr Sanjay Verma, who was known to the complainant, reportedly entered his house, tied him and demanded money.
Further, when the complainant told the accused that he does not have much cash, they demanded other valuables. As the accused could not find cash and valuables in the house, Dr Sanjay Verma, the mastermind of the robbery, “forced” the complainant to sign on four cheques and took the credit card along with the pin number.
They also ransacked the entire house and decamped with five foreign wrist watches, Rs 7,000 in cash and mobile handset all worth around Rs 1,20,000.
An offence of robbery was registered and investigation was taken up.
Multiple teams were formed under Vasco PI Nilesh Rane to trace the other accused.
Following a massive manhunt, the second accused one Suraj Maruti Kambli, a resident of Ulhasnagar-Thane was traced at Panjim bus stand in the evening while trying to board a bus for Mumbai.
During interrogation, Suraj revealed the name of another accused.
Based on the input, teams were formed of LLB staff from all police stations in Vasco sub-division. A search was launched between midnight and morning and at around 6:30 am the third accused one Vishal Ahuja was nabbed near a casino in Panjim.
“Most of the stolen articles have been recovered. All the three accused will be produced for remand before JMFC, Vasco. Further investigation is in progress”, the South Goa SP added.
