Canapé opens at Miramar
PANJIM: Canapé Snax ‘n’ Sips, a food boutique of international standards was inaugurated on Saturday
by renowned musician Remo Fernandes at Miramar Circle.
Canapé is a venture of a young Goan entrepreneur Chirag Naik who is an alumni of American Institute of
Baking, Cansas, USA.
The concept has been developed after extensive market research and study of international trends in
food boutiques. Canapé is backed by a state-of-the-art kitchen and bakery which will produce a variety
of fresh products in the most hygienic conditions.
Canapé’s product range includes puffs, wraps, rolls, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, mini meals,
desserts, pastries, brownies, sponge cakes and bread.
With amazing ambience and location, Canapé is a hangout for the youth and young at heart.
Canapé opened its outlet in Margao four years ago and has received an overwhelming response. The
Miramar outlet is open on all days from 10 am to 10 pm.
Mangalam varsity to open at Gurgaon
PANJIM: Just ten years and several K R Mangalam schools later, the Mangalam Group is on the
threshold of crossing another major milestone, with the launch of the KR Mangalam University in the
NCR, on the Sohna Road at Gurgaon. The University is likely to complement the splendor and brand
image of the K R Mangalam schools, with the campus spread on 28 acres of lush green land, with
world-class infrastructure and facilities.
K R Mangalam World Schools ushered in a fresh lease of opportunity to the otherwise monopoly of
select schools in quality education. The first initiative at the Greater Kailash campus changed the way

AAI vigilance dept recovers over Rs 3 cr
PANJIM: Proactive vigilance in Airports Authority of India has resulted into recovery of over Rs 3 crore
including recovery of outstanding dues. Over a period of time, 80 work inspections at various AAI
airports have been conducted by the Vigilance Department of AAI.
To sensitize senior officers of AAI, and to adopt preventive measures for effective management of
infrastructure projects, Vigilance Department has organized workshops on enforcement of contract
clause of timely recovery at Jaipur, Chennai and Ranchi. Over 200 officials from engineering, finance and
commercial directorate participated in this workshop.
Further, the Vigilance Department of AAI who always believes in proactive approach is taking active part
in the seminar being conducted by International Association for Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) at
New Delhi from April 8 to 10.
Torque 2013 organised at Farmagudi
PANJIM: The Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association of Goa College of Engineering(GEC),
Farmagudi, recently organized their annual two-day national level technical festival ‘Torque 2013’ in the
college campus for the fourth successive time in the college. The event started with an inaugural
function at the hands of the Chief Guest Vivek Kamat, Director of Technical Education, Goa followed by
the garlanding of the portrait of ex-HOD of the Mechanical Department Late Prof Uday Amonkar. The
chief guest while addressing the gathering stressed that a national level event like Torque provides a
platform for the young minds in the different engineering colleges and gives them an opportunity to think
out of the box. He wished good luck to Torque 2013 and also started the proceedings by trying out the
Robo control. The two day festival included events divided into two categories – Technical and Techno-
Fun.
