VASCO: The Excise Department seized 319 boxes of liquor worth Rs 9 lakh in a raid at Vasco, on Sunday. The raid was conducted following information that liquor was sold in violation of lockdown rules.
Immediately after the lockdown was declared, the Excise Department had issued a circular directing closure of all the premises dealing in liquor till the end of lockdown. However, at the premise where the raid was conducted, liquor was sold in violation of the order.
