MARGAO: Following withdrawal of nominations by six candidates from five constituencies of Salcete for the Zilla Panchayat elections, 35 candidates remain in fray with 22 of them being candidates fielded by political parties.
All the three candidates in Guirdolim, Colva and Benaulim are sponsored by political parties. While the three candidates in Colva and Benaulim are fielded by Congress, Nationalist Congress and Aam Aadmi Party the three in Guirdolim are floated by Congress, AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party. At Velim only the Congress has sponsored a candidate while other five are all independents.
