4 foreigners held for overstaying

PANJIM: The Anjuna police on Saturday arrested five foreign nationals for overstaying in India with possessing any valid travel documents.

Four of the arrested accused are from Uganda and one is from Tanzania. Jasmine Noel, 34 from Tanzania, Shakira Namuddu 31, Jovian Achinga, 28 Vivian Nansubuga, 23 and Sarah Rukundo 28, all from Uganda were arrested by police.

Jasmine was staying at Arambol while the other four were residing t Vagator, police said adding that they were arrested during early morning special drive by the police. The Anjuna police have registered cases against the five foreigners for contravening the provision of Foreigner Order 1948 and Foreigners Act 1946. Further investigation is in progress.
