6 booked for using ‘faulty’ measures

VASCO: In a raid by the legal metrology team at least six vegetable vendors were booked for using unverified weighing machines in their trade.
The drive and inquiry was conducted by Nitin Pandurang Purushan, inspector of legal metrology and assisted by Inspector Ramdas Gawade and Pascal Vaz.
The team has booked at least 7 cases for using unverified weighing machines and not exhibiting or producing verification certificate during inspections.
A mobile phone store owner was also booked by this team for violating the packaged commodity rules while doing the trade at their shop at Anand trade centre in Vasco. 
The team has seized at least 500 packages of mobile accessories for not having mandatory declarations on the package prescribed in the packaged commodity rules of the Legal Metrology Act.
