CANACONA: With the arrival of the seventh female turtle to lay eggs in the wee hours of Thursday on Agonda Beach this season, marine life lovers in the taluka are ecstatic over the bumper nesting since the first mother turtle arrived at the end first week of January.

The nesting of seven Olive Ridley turtles on Agonda Beach and two on Galgibag Beach has till date contributed a total number of 1173 eggs.
These eggs are safely relocated in the enclosures at the incubation sites on these two beaches, informed Vikramaditya Naik Gaonkar, RFO Wildlife.
The latest Olive Ridley turtle to arrive in Canacona was on the Agonda Beach, the female turtle arrived at 12.05 am and laid 153 eggs, Naik Gaonkar added.
