MARGAO: GOACAN has written to the District Magistrates drawing their attention to the fact that there are many abandoned vehicles lying at different locations in Municipal Councils and Village Panchayats in their respective jurisdiction. The letter has been written as part of its Road Safety & Traffic Management Campaign.
In its letter GOACAN has pointed out there these vehicles are occupying the spaces that could be used for parking on a daily basis. Moreover, in some cases, the vehicles are in bad shape and thereby present an ugly scene giving the impression to the public that the Govt authorities are not interested to clear the same. A study by Margao Traffic cell had revealed of at least 40 vehicles parked on roadsides occupying public space.
