PANJIM: In three separate raids on matka gambling, Crime Branch of Goa Police has arrested 8 persons and recovered over Rs 45,000.
SP Crime, Pankaj Kumar Singh informed that in the first raid conducted at Alto Porvorim accused Venkatesh (42 years) and Fayaz (45 years) were caught while accepting gambling bids. Gambling articles and cash of Rs 2,180 were recovered from them.
In the second raid conducted at Upper Bazaar in Ponda, accused Mohd Gouri (35 years) and Surendra (52 years) were caught while accepting bids. Rs 35,460 along with other gambling articles were recovered from them.
And in the third raid conducted at Sasmolem Baina in Vasco, accused Dharmanath (61 years), Radheshyam (38 years), Umesh (57 years) and Surendra (52 years) were caught while gambling. Gambling articles and cash of Rs 7,770 were recovered from them.
